As well as strays, Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) also takes in dogs and cats whose owners can no longer care for them whether due to a change in circumstances or problematic behavior. Behavior problems can be very distressing and it is understandable that some owners feel their only option is to part with their pet.
Second Chance Animal Rescue aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. If you want to bring your dog or cat to one of our shelters please call us first. Continuous demands on kennel and cattery space occasionally means we are not in a position to take your dog or cat immediately, your details will be added to our waiting list. We treat each case individually, if we cannot take your dog or cat into our immediate care, we can put your pets’ details and your contact details on our “Homes Needed” web page if you want. In emergency cases we can sometimes take injured or distressed animals into immediate care, however veterinary care may not be available, or, difficult to avail of outside of normal working hours. This situation is out of our control.
